The largest community-driven Creative Commons sound library on the internet. Over 720,000 sounds uploaded by users worldwide. Everything from field recordings to synthesized sounds to foley to musical samples. All under Creative Commons licenses (CC0, CC-BY, CC-BY-NC).

The power of Freesound is the sheer volume and diversity. Need a specific sound? Someone has probably recorded it and uploaded it here. The search works well, you can filter by license type, and the community adds new sounds daily. Quality ranges from amateur phone recordings to professional field recording work.

Why it's useful for game dev
