What it does
So what this Simple Meter actually does, based on the official description, is give you fast stereo level and loudness numbers in one view. It shows Peak, RMS (as a calibrated average so comparisons feel more natural) and True Peak according to BS.1770-4. On top of that it tracks short-term loudness and dynamic range, and you can set your own warning thresholds so it flags when the signal crosses the levels you chose.
The other main piece is the linking. You can link multiple instances for A/B comparison. There is also a Monitor CUE function that lets you listen to the selected reference or CUE source through the current instance while the meters keep showing the comparison between that CUE and the output. That is the core of it. Clean layout, no extra spectrum or complicated panels, just the level and loudness feedback for mixing and reference checks.
